An efficient textile and clothing industry is growing in Uzbekistan. The fully integrated textile value chain and the growing market offer a wide range of opportunities to intensify business relations between Germany and Uzbekistan. The German Pavilion at the UzTextile Expo in Tashkent from 24 to 26 May 2023 is an excellent opportunity for German companies in the textile industry to establish contacts with customers, suppliers, sales and production partners.

For the first time, on the initiative of Gesamtmasche and the Gesamtverband textil+mode, a German pavilion sponsored by the federal government is planned for the UzTextile Expo Tashkent. Uzbekistan is rapidly becoming a regional textile centre. On the one hand, the Central Asian country is interesting as a production and procurement location. On the other hand, Uzbekistan has concluded free trade agreements with many countries in the region and is therefore predestined as a delivery platform for the Greater Region. Domestically, Uzbekistan is characterized by a steadily growing consumer market with a population of more than 35 million people. Thus, the country is one of the fastest developing textile and clothing markets in the world.

Political reforms and market opening are accelerating the upswing of the industry. The traditional cotton country scores today with modern production facilities, comparatively high social and environmental standards and a zero tariff policy of the EU. Our online conference presents the most important facts about the new textile hotspot on the Silk Road and informs about the opportunities to participate in the German Pavilion.
