Within the framework of the international Heimtextil exhibition, held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from November 6 to 8, an important visit was made by the director of the German textile association Gesamtmasche Silvia Jungbauer. This event was a significant milestone in the development of cooperation between Germany and Uzbekistan in the textile industry.
During her visit to the exhibition, Silvia Jungbauer held a number of talks with representatives of leading enterprises of the textile industry of Uzbekistan, such as Navbakhor Textiles, Uztex Group, Global Textile, Yustex, Premier Textile and others. The main attention was paid to the issues of innovation, sustainable development and the introduction of modern technologies into production processes. The participants of the meetings discussed the possibilities of joint projects aimed at improving the skills of personnel, product quality and expanding export opportunities. The parties agreed to hold seminars and training programs for Uzbek manufacturers in order to increase their competitiveness, both in Uzbekistan and in Germany.
On November 6 of this year, a meeting was held with the Deputy of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan – Nodira Shotursunova and her colleagues. It was noted that cooperation with Germany opens up new horizons for Uzbek manufacturers. She told about the readiness of the Chamber of Commerce to support initiatives aimed at developing the textile industry and attracting foreign investment, working together in organizing seminars, trainings, and also expressed readiness to provide comprehensive support in training such professions as technologists and designers. The parties also discussed the schedule of future seminars of local ToT trainers, their main functions and tasks. Ideas on the future strategy and prospects of working with the Gesamtmasche Association were listened to. According to the two sides, this meeting was fruitful and effective.
Also, during the visit, Silvia Jungbauer met with the representative of the German Embassy in Uzbekistan, Mrs. Rebecca Dovernier, who stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral relations in the textile sector. The issues of supporting German investments in Uzbekistan, as well as opportunities for creating joint ventures, were discussed. On the part of the representatives of Gesamtmasche, the goals and objectives of work in Uzbekistan, new ideas and their implementation were told.
An important point of the visit was the interaction with the first deputy of the Uztextileprom Association, Mr. Mirmukhsin Sultanov. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Namangan Textile Institute, Vice–rector – Zokirjon Erkinov and his colleagues. The parties discussed current trends in the textile market, as well as opportunities for the exchange of experience and technologies. Silvia Jungbauer expressed Gesamtmasche’s readiness to support Uzbek manufacturers through the organization of exhibitions, participation in international forums and provision of consulting services. Mr. Sultanov and representatives of Gesamtmasche, as well as Namangan Textile Institute discussed further joint plans for the implementation of the School of Technologists project:
• Development of the concept and training program: The joint Working Group will develop the concept and training program, taking into account the experience of Germany and the modern requirements of the textile industry of Uzbekistan.
• Search for financing: The Parties will actively seek sources of financing for the implementation of the School of Technologists project.
• Location selection: The optimal location of the School of Technologists will be determined to ensure accessibility to students and close connection with textile enterprises.
• Cooperation with German universities: It is planned to establish cooperation with German universities for the exchange of experience, joint projects and training of teaching staff.
The opening of the School of Technologists is a significant step in the development of the textile industry in Uzbekistan. The project will help to train highly qualified specialists who can contribute to the success of the Uzbek textile industry in the international market.
Negotiations with key market players open up new opportunities for joint development, innovation and product competitiveness. It is expected that the results of these meetings will contribute to the further strengthening of bilateral relations and the development of the textile sector in Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of the international exhibition Heimtextil Tashkent – 2024, held from November 6 to 8, the head of the GUZ Partners Gesamtmasche project, Malika Akramova, made a presentation on the topic “Requirements of the European market, product certification, preparation for negotiations with buyers.”
On November 8, 2024, at a panel discussion on the topic “Government support and international cooperation in textile exports,” Gesamtmasche director Silvia Jungbauer made an official speech.
