On July 18, 2022, a video conference was held between representatives of the International Better Work Program, the International Labor Organization, the International Finance Corporation and the Employers’ Association of Uzbekistan.

The International Better Work program is an integral part of the new Decent Work Country Programme (DWTP) for Uzbekistan (2021-2025). Better Work representatives informed about the completion of 2 feasibility studies (1 – in Samarkand and Tashkent, 2 – in Kokand, Fergana and Bukhara) and drew attention to the main objectives such as increasing the number of working women, gender equality in the workplace, occupational safety, capacity building, diversification and inclusion in the workplace.

After completion of the feasibility study with its recommendations, instructions for follow-up will be implemented. They will include a series of pilot events starting from the beginning of October 2022 for 12 to 18 months in several dozen large clusters, medium and small enterprises in partnership with financial institutions such as the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, etc.
