The 17th Central Asian International Exhibition for Textile Machinery, CAITME 2026, has launched at the Uzexpocentre National Exhibition Complex

The GUZ Partners project team, acting as the local representative in Uzbekistan under the project implemented by the Gesamtmasche Association and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through sequa gGmbH, alongside representatives of the Uztextileprom Association, took an active part in the exhibition. They held a series of productive meetings and negotiations with key players in Uzbekistan’s textile and garment industry. The central themes of CAITME 2026 were process automation, efficiency improvement, and environmental sustainability for textile enterprises, with a special emphasis on smart textile waste recycling technologies and circular economy principles.

Over 250 companies and brands from 18 countries are participating in the exhibition, including China, Türkiye, Germany, Italy, India, Austria, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Spain, the UAE, the USA, Switzerland, Japan, and other nations. Foreign exhibitors account for 83 percent of the total participants.

During the event, the project team actively engaged with representatives of the Embassy of Germany in Uzbekistan, the Light Industry Development Agency, an advisor to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as international and local textile companies. Discussions focused on enhancing production processes, adopting state-of-the-art German technologies, optimizing supply chains, increasing energy efficiency, and boosting workforce skills across Uzbek enterprises.

Special attention was given to further developing bilateral cooperation and solidifying sustainable partnerships between Uzbek and German organizations. Participants explored prospective areas of collaboration within the GUZ Partners project, opportunities to expand synergies among companies, industry experts, trade bodies, and educational institutions, as well as joint initiative implementations.

Industry representatives shared pressing challenges currently facing Uzbekistan’s textile factories, including productivity enhancement, technological upgrades, energy saving, product quality control, workforce development, and international market expansion. Practical approaches to overcoming these hurdles were discussed, focusing on utilizing the project’s framework for targeted enterprise support, knowledge transfer, and the integration of proven German practices.
Overall, CAITME 2026 provided a valuable platform for strengthening dialogue and cooperation within Uzbekistan’s textile and garment sector and for further deepening ties between Uzbek and German industry stakeholders. The active participation of the GUZ Partners project created opportunities to identify concrete areas for cooperation, facilitate the exchange of expertise and technologies, and connect companies, experts, business associations, and educational institutions.

The discussions and new contacts established during the exhibition form a strong basis for continued collaboration beyond the event. Building on these connections, the GUZ Partners project will continue to support knowledge transfer, business matchmaking, the introduction of innovative and sustainable production practices, and the development of joint initiatives that contribute to the competitiveness and international integration of Uzbekistan’s textile industry.
