Empowering Women Entrepreneurs: International Lean Management Training in Germany
An international training seminar on “Lean Management in Manufacturing” has commenced at Albstadt-Sigmaringen University in Germany, bringing together more than eight women entrepreneurs from different regions of Uzbekistan, including representatives from Kashkadarya Region, the project’s second pilot region.
The training is organized within the framework of the GUZ Partners project, implemented by the German Textile Industry Confederation (Gesamtmasche) in partnership with the Association “Uztextileprom,” with the support of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through sequa gGmbH.
As part of the project’s commitment to supporting and empowering women entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan, the training aims to strengthen participants’ professional knowledge, management skills, and competitiveness in the textile and manufacturing sectors.
The intensive training course is led by international expert Josef Klein and focuses on the practical application of Lean Management principles in modern manufacturing enterprises. Participants are learning how to optimize production processes, improve efficiency, reduce waste, and establish a culture of continuous improvement.

The training is an important part of the GUZ Partners project’s efforts to create new opportunities for women entrepreneurs, strengthen their professional capacities, and support the development of competitive and sustainable textile businesses in Uzbekistan.

The GUZ Partners project team, acting as the local representative in Uzbekistan under the project implemented by the Gesamtmasche Association and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through sequa gGmbH, alongside representatives of the Uztextileprom Association, took an active part in the exhibition. They held a series of productive meetings and negotiations with key players in Uzbekistan’s textile and garment industry. The central themes of CAITME 2026 were process automation, efficiency improvement, and environmental sustainability for textile enterprises, with a special emphasis on smart textile waste recycling technologies and circular economy principles.
