Strengthening Uzbek–German Cooperation in the Textile Industry
On March 13, 2026, a working meeting dedicated to the development of Uzbek–German cooperation in the textile industry was held in Stuttgart. The event took place at the premises of Mangold Consulting GmbH and brought together key representatives of the sector.
The meeting was attended by Silvia Jungbauer, General Director of Gesamtmasche, Dr. Christoph Mangold, Vice President of Mangold Consulting GmbH, as well as Otabek Mirzaev, a representative of the Uzbekistan Agency for the Development of the Light Industry.
During the meeting, the Uzbek side presented the activities of the Agency, its key functions and objectives aimed at modernizing the sector, increasing its competitiveness, and expanding export potential.
The main focus of the negotiations was on deepening Uzbek–German cooperation, including the development of technological exchange, implementation of joint projects, as well as the organization of educational and training programs for specialists in the textile industry.
It was separately noted that within the framework of the GUZ Partners project, promising opportunities are opening up for developing synergy with the Gesamtmasche and “Uztextileprom” Association in close coordination with the Agency for the Development of the Light Industry.

Following the meeting, a Memorandum of Mutual Cooperation was signed, formalizing the parties’ intentions to develop partnership relations. A key outcome of the negotiations was the agreement on further practical steps and prospects for cooperation.
In conclusion, the parties expressed mutual interest in the systematic implementation of the agreements reached and their readiness for the active development of bilateral cooperation.
From 12–14 October 2026, the international textile exhibitions will take place in Tashkent at UzExpoCentre.
